It has been two months since the 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal. While most of the country is intact and carrying on, there are parts which are extensively damaged. The people I talked to while capturing this photo essay wore incredibly warm dispositions; pausing from their rubble clearing to ask me what my name was. Above the destruction, I wanted to capture the hope and spirit within these people that resonates louder than all else. This is a current inside look at the progress and recovery being made in this shaken, yet beautifully resilient country.
Oh Jenny! Such gorgeous pictures of such devastating circumstances. I will return to Nepal in the new year, it’ll be interesting to see how much it’s changed from here to then. Will you go to Pokhara/into the mountains? You should!
Thank you so much Anna! That’s so exciting, where are you headed? Yes, I’m returning in late August and will definitely be spending an extended period of Pokhara. I can’t wait!
